Berkeley Store

    Black Oak Books offers an eclectic and intriguing selection of new, used, and antiquarian books. Our staff is well-informed and passionate about books, and they will be delighted to make recommendations or leave you to explore our abundance on your own. You'll find a wealth of books on a wide variety of subjects, including literature, science, art, photography, cookbooks, and history, with many signed first editions and out-of-print titles you won't find anywhere else. Our experienced staff's goal is to promptly find any book in print in the U.S. With an eye for expanding our selections, we also buy quality books for cash or trade and we offer gift certificates and free gift wrapping. and is open from 11AM - 9 PM seven days a week.

Black Oak Books in Berkeley: 1491 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94709  Coming by Car To get to Black Oak Books from Highway 80, exit at University Avenue and go east, toward the UC Berkeley campus. Turn left onto Shattuck Avenue (heading north). The store is located on the right side, past Vine. Metered parking is available in front of the store. The neighborhoods around the store have some two-hour, non-metered parking places. Coming by Public Transit To get to Black Oak Books by bus, check out Bay Area Transit Information (or call 511). Routes 7, 9 and 18 take you to Shattuck and Vine. We are also six blocks north of the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Other Information Black Oak Books is handicapped accessible. Return Policy

Books purchased from Black Oak Books must be returned within 10 days with the receipt. All internet sales must contact Black Oak Books within 30 days of ship date. Returned items must be in resalable condition and accompanied by the receipt and a RMA number. Black Oak Books will credit the customer's credit card. Please ship returns to:
